Where is the Bookstore?

 

We are located on the first floor of the W.A. Murphy Student Centre at the end of the building, across from the UPEI Sports Centre. The W.A. Murphy Student Centre is #4 on the Campus Map.

  • How do I know what books I need?

  • Does the Bookstore carry ebooks?

  • Yes, we do carry e-books as well as the electronic access codes you need for labs and online learning exercises. Some of these come packaged with new textbooks, but we also sell them separately at our front cash counter, or you can purchase them online here.

  • Should I buy my books before classes start?

  • We recommend that you buy your books after you go to your first class, as our return policy is only 2 business days. However, we realize that some people like to shop early.

  • Can I buy my textbooks online?

  • Yes, you can get a personalized list of textbooks here and purchase the books you are interested in.

  • Can I order a book that I don't see at the Bookstore?

  • Yes, we would be happy to order in any book you are looking for. Please contact us with a title, ISBN, and author.

  • What if I can't make it in to the store during your hours of operation?

  • If you need to make a purchase and can’t make it to the store, you can shop online for your textbooks, clothing, and some giftware. We offer shipping anywhere in Canada.

  • What is the return policy on textbooks?

  • Please read our textbook return policy.

  • Will the Bookstore buy back my used textbooks?

  • No, we are not currently buying back used textbooks.

 

  • Can I charge purchases on my student account?

  • You can, but you must purchase textbooks, lab manuals, or other required course materials and the minimum purchase is $20.00. You can charge books and school supplies to your account. Clothing and giftware cannot be charged. If you have a balance owing, you may not be able to make charges—please contact the Registrar’s Office for details.

 

  • Do students get a discount in the store?

  • There is no regular student discount, but we do run sales and promotions throughout the year. Check our social media for updates.

 

 

  • Do you ever have sales or specials?

  • Yes, we run sales throughout the year, including 20% off clothing, giftware, and office supplies during certain events like Convocation and Open House. Check social media for updates.

 

  • Is it busy at the start of the term?

  • Yes, September and January can be very busy. Lines do form, but we move them as quickly as possible. Mornings and late evenings are usually quieter.

 

  • Are you open extra hours at busy times?

  • Yes, we extend hours at the start of each semester and during December, including some Saturdays. Check the website for details.

 

  • Are you open during the Summer?

  • Yes, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 4:00pm.

 

  • How do I get a job at the Bookstore?

Each spring there is a job posting on the UPEI student jobs listing.
